How about we talk about we like in the category of ‘dessert wines’ as well, might give them more hints?
My favorites are ice wines. When I was first introduced to them, I didn’t realize the wide variety there were. A co-worker brought me some from BC that were very different from the east coast ones I had tried before.
I know they are not inexpensive because of what it takes to make them.
I’m also a fan of meads but these are technically not desert wines
@smittypap You will continue to run lower, since Peter no longer makes wine. He retired after the 2013 vintage and closed down winery operations at the end of 2017.
That is sad, but there’s Fenestra Port, Twisted Oak Pig Stai, and Pedroncelli Port that all fit the bill and are delicious. Doubly so at the CM price.
@ScottW58 Nice try. Wine that you like is even better when it’s cheaper. Or maybe more accurately, the better the deal on a wine you like the better the wine tastes in the end. Wouldn’t you say a d’Yquem tastes even better if you only paid $30 for it?
@klezman
Oh come on a $30 d’yquem would only mean I could drink them more often. So I’m guessing if you could get 5 buck Chuck for a nickel a bottle it would taste great?
@klezman
Love a good deal! makes me feel good about buying the wine…well as long as I like it. But no it doesn’t make it taste any better, sure wish it did cause I would be loving those $4.99 Nocetos we bought haha.
Adding to the chorus. I adore ice wines, had some amazing ones from Hunt country that came through WW back about 5 years. I swear, it tasted like a magic potion. Sweet rieslings could also be nice, they make amazing wine granitas. Ports can also be delicious, though I don’t know if we’re really up to a whole case of port. Maybe in the fall. I’d love to see what would happen here with some lesser known varieties of sweet/dessert wines. Also, I know mead is a bit outside the category too, but I loved the Chaucer ones. Also Quady has some really fun ones (And they finally can ship to PA, last I’d remembered them and checked, they still couldn’t! I may have to go order some, if I can remember which ones I loved there)
Seconded
This seems to be a common request.

On it.
@Winedavid49
To quote you “woo hoo!”
@Winedavid49
double woohoo
Got any Niagara Icewines at kick-ass prices? That’d get you some extra fandom down in my household
I’m running low on the Wellington ports. Just sayin’.

@ScottW58 You would probably complain about the poor taste a little less and be able to enjoy it for what it is.
@Twich22
I don’t usually enjoy crap no matter what it is
@ScottW58 Nah…shitty wine is shitty wine. I’m saying a better price on good wine makes it even better. Or are you saying you don’t like a good deal?
@klezman @ScottW58 I think he is saying price does not effect taste. I am not sure I would entirely agree.

@klezman @ScottW58 Yeah, those were a bit of a miss; strange for a Noceto.
@klezman @rjquillin
Hey bad vintages happen
@klezman @ScottW58 She could have bulked it out, but, it looks like it was already bottled…
@ScottW58 @Twich22
I agree with this statement.
However in my current state of finances my standards have taken a dip…
I would love to see some dessert wines on Casemates.
