We still visit them, but primarily because we still have kids young enough to enjoy them. As much as I love the role that they play, I don’t know that I would make the time otherwise.
Come on, mediocrebot, rarely and not really are practically the same. You go from the semblance of “I visit one every week” to “Maybe I found my library card when my kid needed a book”
I am lucky to live in CMH that has a wonderful library system. From free day passes to art museums, the conservatory, and the zoo. Inter-branch loans if you want an obscure book. Plus, I have never, ever, met a librarian that was not cool. From the law librarians to the local branch.
Mostly I check out e-books (in the middle of one now). I find the native reader acceptable though there is the option to download in Kindle format. The selection or number of licenses can be somewhat limited, so occasionally I resort to checking out paper. So yeah, I guess that’s “often”.
