- @rjquillin I heard the phrase once “you can taste the dirt it grew in.” Of course not literally true, but yes it’s distinctive. I’m thinking mostly about things like Oregon Pinot Noirs but it applies to others too.

Yes I seek it too. Hard to find in affordable range. A lot of the best stuff is on allocation to wine clubs and VIPs.
