@kawichris650 maybe you’re just faster at navigating your phone than I am with a keyboard. Shrug.
To put up a picture I either need to adjust a few settings on my phone every time or transfer a photo to my desktop.
@klezman I had a 2007 a couple of weeks ago that was outstanding. Last BD I picked up her 6 pack of half bottles, shortly after receiving I contacted her and she put together a mixed case of full size 07 08 10 11 12 , I’m looking forward to working through them over the next couple of years.
Yea, wifey caught me by surprise after I had been behind the bar for a half hour waiting for the event to start. There is another one of me smiling but it didn’t show all the wines and they are the main attraction!
Okay making some Flannery meatballs tonight and found this in the cellar so I will drink before and after dinner if it holds! Quite delicious especially since the other bottle of this was shot the cork tried to split into 3 piece’s but the Durand did what I paid for it to do Not in its prime anymore but a great core of strawberry and cherry fruit. Great acid backbone.
2013 Wellington Alicante Bouchet. Plenty of fruit. Blackberry and plum. Black cherries. Tobacco. Peppery finish. Enough tannins to keep your interest. Full body. Just wonderful. Last one. Finished the field blends and noir de noirs too. Still 3 cases of cabs and victories. Fond memories of those rowdy woot days.
Yes, even though they are owned by Nestle these days the lasagna especially, is as good as ever. Of course the French bread pizzas are also very good. Their HQ is about 15 minutes from me so they have a pervasive presence in area stores (and households).
Marion Valpolicella, 2015
On it’s own, wonderful nose and lots of fruit, but too much acid.
With eggplant baked with mozzerella and Pastabilities sauce over Vince’s garlic spaghetti, it’s AMAZING.
Oh, and pork loin inundated with garlic.
2009 Château Vignot St. Émilion Grand Cru
A nice enough buy from Envoyer at $25. Middle of the road style of Bordeaux and just starting to show secondary notes.
Should go well with the instant pot short ribs that are currently cooking.
2016 Kent Rasmussen Pinot Noir, Esoterica. My first KR wine, and can’t say I’m a fan. Heresy, I know. It is very light even for a PN and has a sweetness (maybe vanilla?) that isn’t to my taste. If I recall, this was billed as dry so must be something else. Hope to have better luck with the cab.
@chipgreen@CorTot@hscottk What Cory said - but also that earlier on it was also good stuff like Petite Sirah and his Ports. Later on it just turned into his “bulk” wine brand that you could find at Costco.
Costco business center at Sherman way and thjunga, holy shit they have everything, whole hogs, goats, the finest duck. You name it they have it in bulk. It’s unbelievable? Wear a jacket it’s cold
