2013 Wellington Alicante Bouchet. Plenty of fruit. Blackberry and plum. Black cherries. Tobacco. Peppery finish. Enough tannins to keep your interest. Full body. Just wonderful. Last one. Finished the field blends and noir de noirs too. Still 3 cases of cabs and victories. Fond memories of those rowdy woot days.
@CorTot
Yea, wifey caught me by surprise after I had been behind the bar for a half hour waiting for the event to start. There is another one of me smiling but it didn’t show all the wines and they are the main attraction!
@klezman
Costco business center at Sherman way and thjunga, holy shit they have everything, whole hogs, goats, the finest duck. You name it they have it in bulk. It’s unbelievable? Wear a jacket it’s cold
@klezman@ScottW58
Yeah, we got one down here as well, a few blocks from the UPS distro center just off my commute.
Too bad they are not open/already closed when I pass by.
With smoked turkey breast that was supposed to be a chicken, I guess it’s to much to ask my daughter to know the difference when you send her to the store oh and miso onions which are my new love!
@kawichris650 maybe you’re just faster at navigating your phone than I am with a keyboard. Shrug.
To put up a picture I either need to adjust a few settings on my phone every time or transfer a photo to my desktop.
@InFrom One feature I wish CT would add is the user names that contribute to the drinking window.
When there are only a few, two for this one, you really have no idea how to weigh them.
Really need to wait till '23?
Need a decant?
Someone had to pull that cork, thanks.
@rjquillin I was considering a decant, but we tasted after pulling the cork and agreed it was ready to go as is. I tend to gravitate towared lower AbV wines, but didn’t particularly notice any heat or other unpleasantness from alcohol. The tannins were mellow, overall impression: it was delicious. More age won’t hurt it none, but it’s in a good place right now.
Served it with cassoulet, where we usually stick to tradition and go with a Malbec, specifically, a Cahors. This one is 1% Malbec (or are we now spelling it Melbec?), so I figured close enough, not making a wine-store run with all this wine in the house.
@klezman I wish I had a basis of comparison with earlier Bells, but alas I don’t. I wish I had more of this one, along with that Merlot that was part of the same deal.
PS to all of the above: I’d love to hear if anyone else tastes it. My nose, never the most perceptive, went all to hell when I got the Covid, and my sense of smell still has its weird moments even half a year later.
@InFrom@klezman@kawichris650
Ahhh, cassoulet and Cahors.
Great gastronomic memories from a couple of business trips to Toulouse when I did some work at CNES.
We visited Bell on the '14 tour didn’t we? I thought Anthony was still winemaker then, and didn’t quit until a couple/few years later.
@InFrom@kawichris650@rjquillin The 2014 Cabernet was really oaky, while none of his previous wines had any perceptible oak. I think he harvested 2014 and maybe 2015 but was under a lot of pressure from his business partners to make wines more in the “drink early” vein of Napa. He said it mostly altered clonal selections, but the oak on the 2014 Cabernet was crazy. I haven’t had any from that mixed offering yet - waiting to see what others think!
My first Virage red - the 2008. This is excellent.
With Snake River Farms wagyu zabutons. Half price at Eataly this weekend, as are SRF wagyu rib caps.
@klezman I had a 2007 a couple of weeks ago that was outstanding. Last BD I picked up her 6 pack of half bottles, shortly after receiving I contacted her and she put together a mixed case of full size 07 08 10 11 12 , I’m looking forward to working through them over the next couple of years.
Waygu A5 NY strip steak with 2012 Cabot Syrah, Kimberley’s. This was so good, I’d consider going into labor for this! Fortunately, a Labor Day dinner was the more expedient option.
Okay making some Flannery meatballs tonight and found this in the cellar so I will drink before and after dinner if it holds! Quite delicious especially since the other bottle of this was shot the cork tried to split into 3 piece’s but the Durand did what I paid for it to do Not in its prime anymore but a great core of strawberry and cherry fruit. Great acid backbone.
@ScottW58
Yes, even though they are owned by Nestle these days the lasagna especially, is as good as ever. Of course the French bread pizzas are also very good. Their HQ is about 15 minutes from me so they have a pervasive presence in area stores (and households).
2018 Griffin Society Barbera (New Club Exclusive!)
2018 Mountain Selection Syrah (New Release!)
2017 J&S Reserve Barbera
2017 J&S Reserve Petite Sirah (New Release!)
2019 Dry Riesling
Marion Valpolicella, 2015
On it’s own, wonderful nose and lots of fruit, but too much acid.
(CNY Peeps)…
With eggplant baked with mozzerella and Pastabilities sauce over Vince’s garlic spaghetti, it’s AMAZING.
Oh, and pork loin inundated with garlic.
@rjquillin@ScottW58 true story, her s’mores bars which she’s brought to gatherings a couple times was a recipe she found and improved. Her (Former) friend asked for the recipe and then proceeded to use it as one of her menu items at her new home bakery. It’s the most popular thing she sells…
@CorTot@rjquillin@ScottW58 Is she a former friend because she doesn’t share the profits from your lovely wife’s recipe?
We miss seeing you guys! When we doing an outdoor gathering? It’s cooling off enough to be an option in a couple weeks…
@klezman@rjquillin@ScottW58 I was thinking about that, October’s a little booked up but I’ll see if I can swing something.
Regarding the friend, it’s considered rude to take a recipe Especially an improved one and sell the results with out asking for permission. Good on her for being an entrepreneur but it’s a sucky friend move…
2011 Virage at Mammoth Hotel ,Yellowstone National Park. Brought a selection of 375’s for my birthday getaway 4 day wknd.
Out at crack of dawn for wildlife photography, have to be responsible
Finally picked these up from WineX, so we’re trying the one that looked like the cork had leaked. Wine is, thankfully, sound.
1994 Caves São João Cabernet Sauvignon Quinta do Poço do Lobo
2009 Château Vignot St. Émilion Grand Cru
A nice enough buy from Envoyer at $25. Middle of the road style of Bordeaux and just starting to show secondary notes.
Should go well with the instant pot short ribs that are currently cooking.
A really delicious but humble bottle of Burgundy, I say humble because CT says I bought these in March of 2019 for $29 a pop from Envoyer a sucky day at work so this is dinner!
Vintage vertical, SD patio dinner with the adult kids. Flannery rib eyes, Hancock lobster mac&cheese and other miscellaneous. Been awhile since I’ve ventured down to Salt Lake . Great to see the kids.
@chipgreen
SLC is actually my full time residence but I left first of March and have been living in a small Idaho town(500 residents) where I have a vacation/retirement home.
@chipgreen@CorTot
That’s pretty close to the truth, my Idaho cellar definitely surpasses my SLC cellar at this time. I took a room in the basement and converted it to a cellar / bar area. Favorite room in the house!
@rc70
I’ve done the same, but on a more rustic level. My “poor man’s cellar” is a corner room in the basemement. It has two cinder block walls, a bare concrete floor, and no HVAC to it. The temperature remains very consistant. It’s not much to look at and it’s definitely not built for entertaining, but it’s functional and serves its purpose.
@knlprez@rjquillin
30/45 minutes and it was drinking very nicely. I have several cases of both 12/13 so I occasionally raid them, as my 6-7-8-9- are down to single digits I’m a little more conservative with those.
@rc70@rjquillin We stocked up on them so luckily have a nice stash, with around 18 bottles each of the '12 and '13, and dwindling amounts back to 2001. We haven’t opened a 13 yet, how are they doing?
Glad it was showing well! Always fun to open a Victory!
@rjquillin Whole in the bag it came in. No seasoning for this part. I haven’t decided yet whether the slice and then grill or if I’ll use a different method to finish.
2008 Scott Harvey Zinfandel Old Vine Reserve
Nice to drink a now $59 bottle that cost $22.
Flannery “adventurous” burger blend, cob corn and aspergrass all grilled.
@CorTot
Wow, nice! I wish WD would get Jon’s wines on here but I am guessing he never got his shipping paperwork in order once the requirements got stricter.
@CorTot
This is a rectangular label, not the oval I’m more used to seeing.
Wondering if it was a custom that suffered from the Yuhan Chinese Virus affair.
Funny man Cortot Yeah we discovered Cavatappi on the old woot site, I loved them although never had the Nebbiolo but from cortots note it sounds like it is true to the variety.
CNY Folks…
Again, I can’t say enough about Long Point Winery
Drinking their 2014 Cab Sauv tonight. $25 at the winery.
I’d put it up against ANY $50 Napa Cab!
Fantastic!
2016 Kent Rasmussen Pinot Noir, Esoterica. My first KR wine, and can’t say I’m a fan. Heresy, I know. It is very light even for a PN and has a sweetness (maybe vanilla?) that isn’t to my taste. If I recall, this was billed as dry so must be something else. Hope to have better luck with the cab.
@hscottk Those were his mass market bottlings. It’s not that surprising, unfortunately. The Kent Rasmussen Winery Pinot Noir is an entirely different beast.
@chipgreen@hscottk@klezman it’s his label for everything that is not his wineries bread and butter or is experimental. He also uses it to play with other styles than the wineries house style.
@chipgreen@CorTot@hscottk What Cory said - but also that earlier on it was also good stuff like Petite Sirah and his Ports. Later on it just turned into his “bulk” wine brand that you could find at Costco.
@CorTot@hscottk@klezman
Thanks for the replies. I’m still hoarding some of those 2006 Late Harvest Viogniers and 2008 Vermelho Fortes, plus multiple vintages of the PS. Sadly, I have never had a KR wine that wasn’t from his Esoterica lineup.
@rc70 I grabbed a couple of these on a LB marathon a few years ago. It was decent, but didn’t inspire additional purchases. How is it doing these days?
@hscottk This came from LB back in 18 also, for the $ paid it was fine but not something to get excited about. Just middle of the road, went well on Thursday night with some Hangers.
2018 Chehalem Rosé of Pinot Noir at our favorite local seafood place which is moving at the end of the month from the eclectic little space you see here and below, to some fancier digs in the Merriman Valley area of Akron.
Kind of a bittersweet moment for us because they currently have no liquor license, therefore offering $5 corkage. They will have alcohol at the new place, so they are eliminating corkage. Great move for them as they will be able to expand their menu in a much larger venue with ample parking but for us it will be farther away, more expensive and we will really miss the cozy confines and available corkage at the current location.
Michael David Earthquake Petite Sirah 2008
Load of that Michael David flavor…yum!
2008 and still fresh…my Upstate NY cellar must be good.
And, I can tell that it’s 15.5%.
Celebrating our 42nd anniversary (with grilled prime NY strip).
@Mark_L
Happy anniversary!!!

Donated/poured wines for a fundraiser this evening. 100% Wootmates wines!
Slingshot Cab, InZinerator, Jana Sauv Blanc, J Dusi Pinot Grigio, Dennen Vacationer Rose and Hunt Country Late Harvest Vignoles.
Paired with pierogies, sauerkraut and kielbasa + angel hair pasta and mussels in garlic butter and assorted fruits/veggies/dips and bakery items.
…complete with resting bitch face, haha
@chipgreen you seem so happy!
@CorTot
Yea, wifey caught me by surprise after I had been behind the bar for a half hour waiting for the event to start. There is another one of me smiling but it didn’t show all the wines and they are the main attraction!
@chipgreen
Good way to make some room for that next order, with luck, you may even be able to take a deduction.
@chipgreen love the hunt country stuff. I don’t think we have had any on casemates. I wonder if WD can make that happen.
Smoked some Dino ribs with a nice Amavi, this covid thing and a new smoker is going to kill me!
@ScottW58 Where’d you get the whole short rib? Chuck or plate? I love those things.
@klezman
Costco business center at Sherman way and thjunga, holy shit they have everything, whole hogs, goats, the finest duck. You name it they have it in bulk. It’s unbelievable? Wear a jacket it’s cold
@klezman @ScottW58
Yeah, we got one down here as well, a few blocks from the UPS distro center just off my commute.
Too bad they are not open/already closed when I pass by.
@klezman @ScottW58 nice work!
2011 Scott Harvey Vineyard 1869 Zinfandel
Damn this is good
@klezman
and you didn’t even have to cellar it
@rjquillin The biggest advantage of 6 or so years of waiting to get it is that I still have some left!
@klezman You’re quite welcome.
With smoked turkey breast that was supposed to be a chicken, I guess it’s to much to ask my daughter to know the difference when you send her to the store oh and miso onions which are my new love!
2010 Congruence CS. Last bottle. Drinking beautifully. Right in its prime.
@jmdavidson1
Great to hear the last bottle was great!
@jmdavidson1 @ScottW58
How is it I have 8, 9 and 11 but no 10?
@jmdavidson1 @rjquillin @ScottW58 8, 9, and 11 for me as well. And not nearly enough…
@rjquillin @ScottW58 the 10 was delicious, but I have no idea about those other years.
This is a beautiful thread now that everyone knows how to put up pictures
@ScottW58 It’s still way more work than just typing it out!
@ScottW58 Couldn’t agree more, makes it so much more enjoyable.
@klezman
Not really. And as they say… “A picture is worth a thousand words.”
@klezman
You have got to be the most lazy person ever!
@kawichris650 @klezman
Yes!
@kawichris650 maybe you’re just faster at navigating your phone than I am with a keyboard. Shrug.
To put up a picture I either need to adjust a few settings on my phone every time or transfer a photo to my desktop.
2014 twisted oak Tempranillo zilch with bbq chicken.
Gruet Sauvage. In Gabriel Glas Standarts.
@InFrom
Now you just need some Grey Poupon.
2008 Roessler Pinot Noir Brosseau Vineyard, Chalone
I wish those guys had kept making top notch Pinot!
2013 The Spaniard
2009 Wellington Merlot.
Fantastic!
My first try of this wine, still a tannin bomb on opening. I’ll see what happens with some air time.
@Twich22
I was curious if these were hitting their stride yet, or if they need more cellar time. Looking forward to your additional thoughts.
@Twich22 same reason I stashed those in the hardest to reach place. I’ll find them in a decade or so…
2015 Bell Wine Cellars D6
@InFrom One feature I wish CT would add is the user names that contribute to the drinking window.
When there are only a few, two for this one, you really have no idea how to weigh them.
Really need to wait till '23?
Need a decant?
Someone had to pull that cork, thanks.
@InFrom Yeah, how’s this one going? I found the 2015 Cab to be a very different style compared to when Anthony was making the wines.
When did he stop? Apparently I’ve been living under a rock haha.
@InFrom @klezman @kawichris650
Ahhh, cassoulet and Cahors.

The 07 was my first and such a great wine!
With Flannery pork porterhouse chops
Waygu A5 NY strip steak with 2012 Cabot Syrah, Kimberley’s. This was so good, I’d consider going into labor for this! Fortunately, a Labor Day dinner was the more expedient option.
@hscottk Big fan of the aged Cabot Syrahs, nice spice to them, glad I got a case.
@hscottk
Lol nice!
@hscottk that steak looks perfect!
Okay making some Flannery meatballs tonight and found this in the cellar so I will drink before and after dinner if it holds! 2016 Siduri Pinot Noir Rosella’s Vineyard
Definitely more on the rich and extracted style. Siduri’s buyout seems to have hurt its wine, unfortunately.
Killer SB with some carbonara.
@ScottW58 That looks tasty!
2011 InZinerator with Stouffer’s Lasagna.
@chipgreen
Hmmm haven’t had a Stouffer’s in a long time, still as good as ever?
@ScottW58
Yes, even though they are owned by Nestle these days the lasagna especially, is as good as ever. Of course the French bread pizzas are also very good. Their HQ is about 15 minutes from me so they have a pervasive presence in area stores (and households).
2015 Breckenridge CS, Jen Mar Vineyard, Napa
2012 Scott Harvey reserve Barbera
@klezman
I need to get me some more Scott Harvey wines.
@klezman @ScottW58
Klez is well stocked!
And I need to make a club order, that can easily not make it all the way to SD.
@klezman @rjquillin
Well that would be great but I don’t know if I have room to store 2 or 3 cases for your usual order
@rjquillin @ScottW58 You literally just ordered 3 cases. Now you have to add on a club order? What else is on offer this time?
@klezman @ScottW58 FEATURED 3rd QUARTER WINES

It’s Wellington Wednesday
/giphy wellington wednesday
2006 Noceto Sangiovese
OK first night, but the cork broke.
Very good 2nd night.
@FritzCat I’d heard those just get better and better, as much as a Brunello. I’ll let my newbies slumber.
Not tonight but I found a hidden bottle of that noble Riesling from awhile back
Made some grilled shrimp with Fregola with some Spanish spices, Sofrito and Sazon really like the way it came out!
@CorTot Clearly the glass is so full 'cause it’s so good.
@rjquillin just poured buddy!
It’s a nice bottle!
@CorTot @rjquillin Big fan of that wine. Wish I’d bought more…
@CorTot @rjquillin
That must be a tiny glass or cortot is a real man
@rjquillin @ScottW58 these are the upgraded glasses at the in-laws arrowhead cabin. Still smallish but 1000% better than what was in the bar last year.
@rjquillin @ScottW58 I won’t show you my wife’s glass. She goes to about 3/4 full, I may have to buy her smaller glasses to slow her down a bit
@CorTot @ScottW58 That pic is still a bit shy for a restaurant pour.
@CorTot @rjquillin
I always did like her lol
@CorTot @ScottW58
especially when she brings dessert
@rjquillin @ScottW58 true story, her s’mores bars which she’s brought to gatherings a couple times was a recipe she found and improved. Her (Former) friend asked for the recipe and then proceeded to use it as one of her menu items at her new home bakery. It’s the most popular thing she sells…

Pics or it didn’t happen
Yay two threads!
@ScottW58
love the paper plates,
Found some lobster tails and crab at Costco today with a nice bottle!
@ScottW58
Damn that looks delicious!
With Flannery rib eyes
@rc70
Nice!
@rc70 @ScottW58
Just picked up a Notre Vin Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain 2004 on the Benchmark bin sale.
@rc70 @rjquillin
You gonna be a happy man!
@rjquillin @ScottW58
04 gone now 03 05 06 available - decisions decisions. I’ve got 07 08 10 11 12 - might make one hellava tasting weekend if this Covid crap ever goes away.
@rc70 @ScottW58
'04’s gone?
I know.
@rc70 @rjquillin
Boy looking at the prices we really got a deal from wtso! Unless I missed the bin sale price?
@rc70 @ScottW58
Yeah, 'tso pricing was great.
I’d not pay $100 on a bin sale.
@rjquillin @ScottW58
Couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger on the other vintages. Other bottles I would rather acquire.
2017 Turley Buck Cobb Zinfandel
Finally picked these up from WineX, so we’re trying the one that looked like the cork had leaked. Wine is, thankfully, sound.
1994 Caves São João Cabernet Sauvignon Quinta do Poço do Lobo
From a 375, very solid Pinot
2013 Meeks. Cheers for the goodle days.
@rc70
Really want to know what is on that plate!
@ScottW58 Flannery rib eye steak salad, fresh garden tomato, avocado, artichoke heart, shaved 3 year aged parmigiano- reggiano with Cavedoni Balsamic. It was pretty damn tasty
2014 Cavatappi Winery Nebbiolo Maddalena Red Willow Vineyard
@CorTot
Well I’m excited… I hope
@ScottW58 Good food wine.
Probably wouldn’t enjoy it as much on its own. But I may have just described every Nebbiolo i’ve ever tried…
@CorTot I had to look that up! I didn’t know they grew Nebbiolo in Yakima.
@klezman Scott would say you’re an expert in all things Yak related so he was surprised you didn’t know that!
@ScottW58 I wasn’t on their list by then! Nice buy!
2014 Winesmith Grenache, Bates Ranch
Meadowcroft ‘18 Pinot noir RRV
2009 Miura Pinot Noir Monterey County
2013 Wellington cs Sonoma.
Spicy Asian noodles, so friggin’ good! I could eat 5 plates of these.
@chipgreen
Oh man that looks great! And the place
@chipgreen candace makes this! Presentation is not quite up to snuff but the flavors are fantastic.
@CorTot
That’s all that really matters! They pair amazingly with every wine I’ve ever thrown at them. White, pink, red, sparkling…
Chilean Sea Bass with stewed tomatoes and saffron, Peruvian purple mashers and veggies.
Vintage vertical, SD patio dinner with the adult kids. Flannery rib eyes, Hancock lobster mac&cheese and other miscellaneous. Been awhile since I’ve ventured down to Salt Lake . Great to see the kids.
@rc70
Weren’t you hunkered down there for a couple months early in the pandemic IIRC?
@chipgreen
SLC is actually my full time residence but I left first of March and have been living in a small Idaho town(500 residents) where I have a vacation/retirement home.
@rc70
Ahh, ok. Well you seem to have brought some pretty nice wines with you from what I’ve seen here since March.
@chipgreen @rc70 you can’t ship wine into Utah, so he’s just been living in his cellar for 6 months.
@chipgreen @CorTot
That’s pretty close to the truth, my Idaho cellar definitely surpasses my SLC cellar at this time. I took a room in the basement and converted it to a cellar / bar area. Favorite room in the house!

Celebrating getting back to my relatively safe little Idaho town.
@rc70 Hopefully you gave that bottle a good decant!
@knlprez @rc70
At only 8, I too would hope so.
@knlprez @rjquillin
30/45 minutes and it was drinking very nicely. I have several cases of both 12/13 so I occasionally raid them, as my 6-7-8-9- are down to single digits I’m a little more conservative with those.

Glad it was showing well! Always fun to open a Victory!
A little SOH rocks wine with Cuban takeout. Delicious
Starting with 2014 Wind Gap Wines Chardonnay Gap’s Crown Vineyard and will open a nice red to go with the Flannery picanha that’s in the sous vide.
@klezman
You piece that up first, or toss it in whole?
I cut mine into the two true Picanha and the two ends, then tossed it in.
@rjquillin Whole in the bag it came in. No seasoning for this part. I haven’t decided yet whether the slice and then grill or if I’ll use a different method to finish.
Oh and some pink!
2016 Pedroncelli Sonoma Classico. Does well without food.
yeah, it’s good
2019 WineSmith Lake Co Melbec
at least that’s what the label says.
@rjquillin What? Never heard of it.
@Twich22 Rather does seem like a mis[spell]print
@rjquillin @Twich22
Maybe the vineyard owner is named Mel?
@rjquillin he knows the correct spelling, we somehow have been spelling it wrong.
2013 Judd’s Hill Meritage
2013 Wellington Malbec
2012 Rockus Bockus Proprietary Red
2008 Scott Harvey Zinfandel Old Vine Reserve
Nice to drink a now $59 bottle that cost $22.
Flannery “adventurous” burger blend, cob corn and aspergrass all grilled.
2009 Pavi Dolcetto
This is drinking really well right now.
2013 Peterson Vignobles
Last bottle of the case from here last October. A great value - other than the heavy sediment, this was nice.
Yes yes yes, today is Oct 1. But LAST night i had the 2013 Wellington Chardonnay.
Thanks for the tip on the picture posting, thanks Ron that is easy! Why didn’t you say something earlier
@ScottW58 what was the tip
I’m going for a nice California red don’t care much for dinner or tart
It’s hot here! With tai food.
@ScottW58 The Thai food didn’t overpower it?
@InFrom
No I didn’t have anything too spicy.
Steel Toe (located in St. Louis Park, MN) “Before the Dawn” Barlywine Ale
2013 Fattoria San Felo Aulus Cabernet Sauvignon Toscana IGT

@CorTot
Did you find the Inspiration at GO?
@chipgreen yes, $5.
@CorTot
Wow, nice! I wish WD would get Jon’s wines on here but I am guessing he never got his shipping paperwork in order once the requirements got stricter.
@chipgreen I would think he could join the party now that we are divorced from the mothership.
Tiki Vibez by Commonwealth Brewing in VA Beach VA , followed by their Marmalada

I like it.
2015 Acumen Mountainside Reserve Red Blend

Interesting it had a Yuan Family Reserve cork
@rjquillin
Chinese knock off
@rjquillin always an adventure at the GO!
@CorTot
This is a rectangular label, not the oval I’m more used to seeing.
Wondering if it was a custom that suffered from the Yuhan Chinese Virus affair.
@rjquillin what you taking about Ron?
Had this with some crab cakes and was not impressed.
Funny man Cortot Yeah we discovered Cavatappi on the old woot site, I loved them although never had the Nebbiolo but from cortots note it sounds like it is true to the variety.
With some smoked ribs, I bought a case of this a while ago then my daughter found it at world market, got another case
@ScottW58 world market is worth the occasional check. It’s not often but I have found some nice deals before.
CNY Folks…
Again, I can’t say enough about Long Point Winery
Drinking their 2014 Cab Sauv tonight. $25 at the winery.
I’d put it up against ANY $50 Napa Cab!
Fantastic!
Old Fashioned with Bumbu Rum and Banana Liqueur.
Smooooth.
@hscottk @klezman
I thought the Esoterica was the “good stuff”? Only known to a select few and all that…
@chipgreen @klezman Doing some googling, it does seem like this is the budget friendly line.
@chipgreen @hscottk @klezman it’s his label for everything that is not his wineries bread and butter or is experimental. He also uses it to play with other styles than the wineries house style.
@chipgreen @CorTot @hscottk What Cory said - but also that earlier on it was also good stuff like Petite Sirah and his Ports. Later on it just turned into his “bulk” wine brand that you could find at Costco.
@CorTot @hscottk @klezman

@CorTot Hey, I opened that same Wellington Friday night for the holiday. My last one of that vintage.
Missed Grenache night yesterday so made up for it tonight.
@ScottW58
Drinking for 2?
I love that magenta Grenache color.
@chipgreen Sounds like you’re regulars. Talk to the owner and see if they’ll grant you a variance.
@chipgreen @klezman $5 corkage with no liquor license? Round these parts there is never corkage for BYO places.
@hscottk @klezman
We did ask the owner (who is also the head chef) last night and got a vigorous head shake for an answer.
Around here, we are lucky if restaurants even know what corkage is when we ask if they have it!
@chipgreen Yeah, sad to see that part of the change but happy to have them move closer to me!
