My wife also loves the Kiwi SBs. I can’t really say I have a favorite white, there are so many white wines that are good in different ways. However, one that sticks out for me is a Prensal Blanc blend (50-50 Prensal Blanc & Chardonnay) called Binigrau Nounat from Spain’s Balearic Islands.
My tasting notes for the 2010 Binigrau Nounat;
Malolactic nose with toasted almonds, pineapple, grapefruit and sage grass. Somewhat viscous mouthfeel with orange peel, stone fruits, tropical fruits with honeyed, nutty overtones and a nice tangy acidity on the longish finish. A touch of nutmeg and allspice appear as it warms in the glass. Complex and enjoyable
My favorite is Petite Sirah. That’s about as close as it gets.
@Shrdlu White wine? That’s why they invented IPA.
Piquepoul blanc probably.
Pinot blanc, when I can find it
Roussane.
Sauvignon blanc from New Zealand (Marlborough)
