TASTING NOTES: “Our Pinot Noir is bright, open and perfumed with intense aromatics and layers of ripe red fruit. Flavors of strawberries, raspberries and cherries blend elegantly with underlying notes of vanilla from French oak aging. Medium-bodied with soft and silky tannins, the lingering finish delivers an elegant and graceful offering.” (AbV 13.5%, pH 3.58, TA 5.2 g/L)

THAT REMINDS ME OF: Over-under, a style of betting, in addition to the more colloquial phrase meaning an estimate. In fact, perhaps that’s where the phrase comes from.

In over-under betting, you are betting on whether something goes over a number or under. Or, perhaps that it will be exactly that number. You can do it with dice, but you usually see it with sports betting.

For dice, you roll two dice and probably bet whether they’ll go higher or lower than 7. For sports, usually the house sets a number for some statistic in the game, and you have to bet over or under that. If it hits the exact number, often they’ll refund all the bets. Maybe sometimes you can bet on that exact number though and win big? I don’t know, I’m not a gambler.
