About Anne Amie Vineyards
Anne Amie Vineyards is located in the Willamette Valley of Oregon and owned by philanthropist Dr. Robert Pamplin. Winemaker Thomas Houseman and grower Peter Ebbers handle the production. Though their primary varieties are in the Pinot family, as a nice compliment, they also grow Old-Vine Estate Müller-Thurgau planted back in 1979. Both LIVE and Salmon Safe certified, Anne Amie crafts some high quality wines and does so sustainably.

Fly Amrita

TASTING NOTES:
Amrita - Aromas of passionfruit, kiwi, mandarin, orange pith, key lime, quince, elderflower. Flavors of white strawberry, salmonberry, lychee, nectarine, ginger, St-Germain, summertime… Spicy, mineral driven and effervescent finish. (Riesling 32.1%, Pinot Blanc 25.5%, Müller-Thurgau 13.9%, Viogner 11.4%, Gewurtztraminer 7.1%, Chardonnay 6%, Pinot Gris 4%)

Müller-Thurgau - Aromas of lemon meringue, starfruit, flint, kaffir lime, kumquat, Meyer lemon. Flavors of key lime, Japanese plum, yellow grapefruit, feijoa, pomelo… Finish dry and mineral. (100% Müller-Thurgau)

The amanita mascara, also known as fly amanita, is one of the most iconic mushrooms, particularly of the toadstool species. Of course, it also happens to be one of the hallucinogenic ones. Though the usual thought is that “fly” refers to the insect and the mushroom’s ability to attract insects, there is speculation that it is more a reference to the delirium caused by ingesting it. Because apparently in medieval times people thought flies got in peoples’ heads, making them “mad.”

Standard white glasses. Try the Amrita with Thai food, Mexican food, NC BBQ, Indian food, brunch mimosas, dumplings. For the Müller-Thurgau, try paella, ricotta, ma po tofu, Pad Thai, tuna poke, grilled oysters, ceviche.
