TASTING NOTES: “This Chardonnay opens with inviting aromas of creamy baked apples, complemented by hints of citrus and the comforting scent of freshly baked brioche. On the palate, you’ll experience bright flavors of lemon and ripe citrus, seamlessly transitioning into a smooth, creamy vanilla mouthfeel. The finish is long and lingering, with notes of toasted oak adding depth and complexity.“ (AbV 14.1%)

PAIRS WITH: Creamy seafood pasta, roasted chicken seasoned with herbs and garlic, a rich risotto with mushrooms and parmesan, a fresh Caesar salad topped with grilled salmon, a charcuterie platter featuring cheeses like aged Gouda and triple-cream Brie, or fresh popcorn.

THAT REMINDS ME OF: Capoeira.

An acrobatic, dance-like martial art developed among slaves in Brazil in the 1700’s. Linked to traditional martial arts of African peoples, particularly the Bantu N’golo. First known as capoeiragem in documents from the time, it started out as a cultural tradition and form of self-defense, although it was suppressed by colonial authorities. It heavily focused on a back and forth movement, a variety of kicks, evasions, rolls and cartwheels. During the 1800’s, however, a more violent style that would later be called capoeira carioca gained prominence, incorporating weapons and head butts, used by gangs to fight back against the police and others. It would be banned in totality in 1890, only to resurface in two new schools after the 1930’s. At this point, it became socially acceptable.
