About Château Montfollet: “In the heart of the best terroirs of the appellations of Blaye and Bourg, this family estate of 67 hectares of vines is located on the hillsides of red clay and limestone, overlooking the Gironde estuary, on the right bank, facing the most prestigious Margaux’s Grand Crus. Altus - “An intense black colour, a very complex nose with aromas of black fruit, cocoa, vanilla and spices, a powerful and full mouth with silky tannins, a very aromatic finish boosted by notes of candied fruit and toasted bread.” (AbV 14.5%)

Foley in filmmaking refers to the various recorded sound effects added to a film’s soundtrack, things that you would naturally expect to hear but were not recorded on-set for whatever reason.

The name comes from Jack Foley, a pioneer in the process of sound effect production during the early days of sound in movies. For over thirty years, Jack was caught between his artistic side and his practical side. He worked as a clerk at the dock and at a hardware store for quite some time, but he would in the meantime sing, write songs, work for the theatre, and draw comics for the paper. When Los Angeles really started to grow in the early 20’s, resources were diverted from smaller towns to accommodate it, hurting their economies. Foley, who lived in the city of Bishop, managed to convince studios to use the area for filming Westerns. This led to him scouting locations for the studios, which led to doing other odd jobs for the studios, which led to his interest in studios adding sound to motion pictures. With the movie Show Boat in 1929, he went all-in on producing sound effects, devoting the latter 30 years of his life to it.
