TASTING NOTES: “Ripe and lush with concentrated melon and white peach. Tropical and citrus flavors blend into a rich and supple core. The finish is persistent and shows an enticing minerality.” (AbV 14.8%, pH 3.66, TA 6.6 g/L)

THAT REMINDS ME… Of Hoss. Hoss Delgado. First appearing in a segment of Grim & Evil in 2002, the spectral exterminator Hoss Delgado became a mainstay of the whole The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy franchise.

Buff as hell and sporting a luscious mane of orange hair, Hoss is introduced sort of as an antagonist. Originally believing the Grim Reaper was holding two kids hostage, he discovers after some fighting that it is in fact the two kids who are holding the Grim Reaper hostage. From there on he occasionally provides support to Billy and Mandy, from taking out a horde of zombies, to teaching the perpetual punching bag Irwin to be tough, to pretending to be Billy’s father when the principal comes to visit. The series can be rather indecisive on whether Hoss is truly a badass or kinda pathetic. Two random details: he lost an eye because he ran with scissors as a child, and his interchangeable right hand is a reference to Ash from Evil Dead.
