About Bodega Calle: “The winery concentrates on varietal wines and premium red blends sourced from viticultural areas throughout Luján and Valle de Uco. All wines are made with the use of gravity and are never pumped to deliver the grapes to the fermentation tanks. All grapes are farmed without the use of herbicides or pesticides, are hand picked and sorted and vinified using native yeasts, which results in a more gradual fermentation curve and less intervention with refrigeration. Bodega Calle is a certified organic winery and the wines are GMO free and vegan.”

THAT REMINDS ME OF: “You Can Call Me Al” by Paul Simon, the lead single off his 1986 album Graceland.

In the song, the main character goes through a midlife crisis, then an existential crisis, and eventually ends up in a foreign land. While he says to call him Al, it’s unclear if that’s actually the character’s name. In fact, it probably isn’t. I say this because the song is somewhat autobiographical, according to Simon. At a party, likely in the early 70’s, the French composer Boulez mistakenly referred to him as “Al” instead of Paul (and his wife at the time Peggy as “Betty”). The second part of the song and the rest of the album was also largely inspired by his experience in South Africa and with South African music.
