TASTING NOTES: “On the dry side, this Gewürztraminer greets the nose with hints of honeysuckle, spicy clove and wet stone along with fruit notes of honeydew, apple and mango. On the entrance additional flavors of lychee and lemon zest are revealed. Round and balanced in the mouth, the wine finishes long and dry.” (AbV 13.5%)

THAT REMINDS ME OF: Bratwurst!

Did you know there is a feud between two regions of Germany over who made the first bratwurst?

For a long time, the oldest known documents that mention bratwurst came from Nuremberg in the late 1500’s, with Nuremberg being in Franconia. Then in walks Arnstadt in Thuringia with a receipt from the early 1400’s mentioning a bratwurst! So much for the Nuremberg bratwurst.

But wait! There was a documented place in Nuremberg that was known to serve bratwurst which existed as far back as the 1300’s.

Oh no you don’t, Franconia! Because Thuringia has legends of how the bratwurst goes back to the seventh century in their region.
