About Kunde Family Estate
Founded back in 1904, the Kunde Family Estate is still owned and operated by the Kunde family. With over one hundred years of shaping across five generations of family members, Kunde’s 1,850 acre estate has become a staple of the Sonoma Valley. Louis Kunde emigrated from Germany and founded the winery back in 1904 after purchasing the Wildwood Vineyards ranch. Ever since, they’ve been committed to both the innovation of their winemaking techniques and the sustainability of their beautiful land.

TASTING NOTES:
On the nose you may find marzipan, orange blossoms and pear. Tastes of vanilla wafer, toasty butterscotch, and caramel green apple. Additionally, “Complex flavors of bright white peach, rich creme brulee, and beautifully integrated oak are perfectly balanced in Kinneybrook’s sustainably farmed Chardonnay.” (AbV 14.1%, pH 3.53, TA 5.82 g/L, RS 2.14 g/L)

9 months with 70% in stainless steel and 30% in French oak, 20% new.

Kinder Surprise was banned in the US for having a non-nutritive object of no functional value inside a confection. Worldwide, out of 30 billion eggs since 1974, ten children have died from choking on the toy inside. Importing Kinder Surprise into the US is apparently serious business, as a Canadian was threatened with a several-hundred dollar fine for carrying one egg into Minnesota during 2011, and two Seattle residents had some in their car in 2012, leading to them being detained for a few hours and threatened as well. Since 2017, a version of the eggs without a toy inside called Kinder Joy has been available in the US, but Kinder Surprise remains banned. Yet the awful Wonder Ball still exists…
