About Kunde Family Estate
Founded back in 1904, the Kunde Family Estate is still owned and operated by the Kunde family. With over one hundred years of shaping across five generations of family members, Kunde’s 1,850 acre estate has become a staple of the Sonoma Valley. Louis Kunde emigrated from Germany and founded the winery back in 1904 after purchasing the Wildwood Vineyards ranch. Ever since, they’ve been committed to both the innovation of their winemaking techniques and the sustainability of their beautiful land.

TASTING NOTES:
Zinfandel - “Our estate grown Zinfandel invites you in with its aromas of black currants, blackberry, gingersnap, and violets. Expressive flavors of blackberry, plum, and a touch of cinnamon are a joy on the palate. Approachable and fruit forward, this vintage is marked particularly by its rich, lengthy finish.“ (AbV 14.7%, pH 3.54, TA 0.68 g/L, 26.8° Brix)

Merlot - “Our rich and velvety textured 2016 Merlot delivers strawberry, black tea and star anise aromas. A complex core of black cherry melds wonderfully through the wine’s silky texture and rich tannins. The velvety mouthfeel and structured body of our Merlot makes it a very food friendly, easy sipping wine.” (AbV 14.2%, pH 3.64, TA 0.67 g/L, 26.5° Brix)

Cabernet - “Rich and boldly flavored, this Sonoma Valley Cabernet offers an intriguing bouquet of vanilla, raspberry and caramel that wraps around a core of black cherry, cassis and raspberry flavors. Our estate Cabernet’s rich, chewy tannins play across the palate and linger on the wine’s complex finish.” (AbV 14.5%, pH 3.71, TA 0.60 g/L, 25.1° Brix)

Zinfandel - 16 months in 35% French and 65% American oak, 25% new.
Merlot - 16 months in French and American oak, 28% new.
Cabernet - 21 months in French oak, 23% new.
