About La Sirena: “Owner/Winemaker Heidi Peterson Barrett is one of the world’s most renowned and respected winemakers. Since the 1980s, she has created some of the Napa Valley’s most famous wines, including Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle, Grace Family, Paradigm, and many others. Her career took off in the late 80s when she began working for Dalla Valle as an “independent winemaker”. She began to develop a tiny project called Screaming Eagle shortly afterwards, and from there, things escalated quickly.“

TASTING NOTES: “Deep ruby in color. The aromas show expressive fruit characteristics of Cab and Syrah – berry, cherry and plum with nuances of French oak, blueberry, garden herbs, and tea leaves. The flavors are mouthcoating, vibrant, and lively. The fruit character of the aromas carries through in the flavors. Very streamlined silky tannins and mouthfeel across the palate. Tasty and inviting - This elegant work of winemaking artistry will delight with its richness and complexity for many years to come!

THAT REMINDS ME OF: Heidi Peterson Barrett, storied winemaker, producer of some real high-quality wines. What’s the deal with this one we have today, anyway? Well, in her own words-

“Announcing the third release of our new La Sirena label – Studio Series. In addition to being a winemaker, I have also been a painter and visual artist for many years. My mother, Diane Brisbois Peterson, was a professional artist, so I grew up immersed in artistic creativity as well as wine. Throughout my winemaking career, I have sought to explore creative avenues within the scientific discipline of wine, and blending has been one of the most fulfilling ways to do that. Studio Series is a Cab-forward winemaker blend that will feature a different painting of mine on the label each vintage. I’m proud to offer this new wine that shows off my creative work both inside and outside of the bottle. Welcome to my studio!”
