TASTING NOTES: “Aromas and flavors of blackberries and ripe plums are well-integrated with notes of tobacco and cedar and hints of fresh tarragon. This medium-bodied wine exhibits beautiful dark fruit, a plush, round mouth-feel, soft tannin structure and a lingering sweet oak finish.” (AbV 13.5%)

VARIETALS: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.

BARRELS: 16 months in 20% French oak, 20% American oak and 40% new oak.

We’re missing a 20%, so we’ll have to contemplate what that is. Also, it says 40% new oak in addition to the French and American, so either it’s 40% new of those two or 40% of some other oak in addition to it. Hungarian, I guess. And if it’s the former, then there’s 60% unaccounted for.

Maybe someone will tell us. Until then, we ponder.

THAT REMINDS ME OF: Long Valley. Which is actually the Salinas Valley.
