About Meadowcroft Wines
Founded by Tom Meadowcroft in Sonoma, CA, Meadowcroft Wines focuses on creativity in approach and diversity in their varietals and sourcing. From Cabernet Sauvignon to Bordeaux, their grapes are sourced from both their estate vineyard, on Mount Veeder, and others in Dry Creek, Carneros, and Alexander Valley. A perk of that diversity of terroir, though still primarily within Sonoma County, is something like today’s sale, which showcases the terroir of four separate AVA’s!

TASTING NOTES:
Sonoma Coast - “Packed with summer ripened strawberries accented by Bing cherries and elegant tannins, this refined pinot noir is a beauty. The mouthfeel is velvety and the finish lingers pleasantly.”

Anderson Valley - “…cherry, plum, and raspberry aromas and beautifully ripe pure flavors along with bergamot tea that adds complexity and interest.”

Napa Valley - “…dense and powerful, featuring an alluring combination of briny minerality and Bing cherries. Touches of French oak and spice add complexity to this textured wine.”

Russian River Valley - “Bright cherry, wild strawberry aromas come together to reveal a palate that shows jammy, tart Bing cherry, and complex baking spice flavors yet the bright acidity lingers.“

DRINK IT FROM (conventional option):
Most will likely shine in a burgundy glass, though standard red, especially with the Russian River Valley and its bright acidity, will work as well. For pairings, each have some very specific suggestions, but primarily you will want to focus on hearty mushroom and pork or crab dishes (lighter meats, bordering on white pairings).

Sonoma - Fennel-Garlic Pork Roast, Stuffed Eggplant with Lamb and Pine Nuts, or Leek and Pecorino Wood Fire Pizza
Anderson - Sesame crusted seared ahi tuna over arugula salad
Napa - Crab or salmon cakes with fresh herbs or arancini di riso with fontina cheese and wild mushrooms
Russian River - hearty mushroom dishes such as pappardelle with wild mushrooms, seared duck breast with cherries and port sauce

The good glasses you got a decade ago because you thought, you know, one day you might use them, but then you just let them collect dust in the cabinet because you don’t really have people over that would necessitate them and it was kind of a spur of the moment decision, BUT today’s the day.
