About Metz Road
Metz, Metz, Metz… sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

Ah-ha! Founded by Al Scheid in 1972, Scheid Family Wines began as only a series of vineyards, but evolved into its own family winery, with 12 estate vineyards along the Salinas Valley. With the various microclimates and soils of the valley, Scheid have access to a surprising amount of variety in terroir. Scheid Family Wines includes five distinctive labels: Scheid Vineyards, District 7, Metz Road, VDR and Stokes’ Ghost. It appears Metz is their label focused solely on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
