The mouthwatering acidity and freshness derived from high-elevation plantings lends a high-toned edge to the deep concentration and mountainous complexity that come from abundant sunshine and rocky, granitic soils.” (AbV 14.7%, pH 3.71, TA 6.1 g/L, RS 0.3 g/L, 44% Barbera 20% Petite Sirah 12% Zinfandel 12% Grenache 12% Malbec)

In the fantasy novel Redwall by Brian Jacques, the story centers around Redwall Abbey, which was founded by a mouse known as Martin the Warrior. On a tapestry depicting Martin, the words “I-AM THAT IS” are written, a cryptic message left for later generations. When the abbey is threatened by a rat raider named Cluny the Scourge and his small army, a novice monk named Matthias receives visions and hears the voice of Martin. While pondering these portents and the tapestry early on, Matthias’ friend Cornflower realizes that “I-AM THAT IS” is an anagram of “I-MATTHIAS,” concluding that he is to become the next warrior of Redwall.
