“Aromas are rich and enticing with hints of spice and ripe berries. Flavors of black plum and warm baking spices are showcased with a light oak toast and minerality. Medium bodied with soft tannins follow through to a savory and lingering finish. A beautifully balanced wine.” (AbV 14.5%, pH 3.56, TA 0.562 g/100mL)

Cilium, plural cilia, are little hair-like things sticking off some microorganisms and cells. The name cilium is the Latin word for “eyelash.” Motile cilia pulse rhythmically in coordinated waves to help move things around. In humans, we’ve got cells with cilia lining our respiratory tracts that essentially sweep mucus and dirt out of our lungs. There are also primary cilia, which are on most of our cells and aren’t involved in motion. It’s just a single strand that taps the neighbors to signal things. Something very similar to cilia is flagella. In fact, it’s the same structure as motile cilia EXCEPT the flagella are longer and have different functions.
