TASTING NOTES: “Intense ruby red color and a rich, complex nose featuring ripe red fruit, spices, and vanilla notes. On the palate, it offers a voluminous mouthfeel with structured tannins and a long, persistent finish.“ (AbV 14%, pH 3.34, TA 5.60 g/L)

This is an old meme spawned from a 2006 issue of The Fresno Bee, a local newspaper for Fresno. There is a kids section, and for this issue, they asked kids who they would be if they were a superhero. Most of the answers are about what you’d expect: Batman, The Hulk, some contemporary cartoon characters. Except for 8-year old Markus, who says Broly from Dragonball Z, because “his power is maximum.”

If you are unfamiliar, Dragonball Z is a shonen anime/manga, characterized by musclebound men yelling and kicking the shit out of each other. For a while, characters could look at each other with “scanners” and see a literal number denoting a person’s “power level.” Broly was a villain introduced in one of the movies, an unstable Saiyan alien like the protagonist Goku, who had the potential to become infinitely powerful. Thus, his power is maximum.
