TASTING NOTES:
“A quintessential California Cabernet, with veggie patch aromatics of capsicum, dried sage, and sun-dried tomato leads to spiced plum and blackberry quince. The firm tannins and acidity are well-balanced, leading to a lingering finish of pie crust and toasted vanilla.” (AbV 14.3%, pH 3.72, 80% Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Merlot 10% Petite Sirah)

John Henry! American folk hero! John Henry was purported to be so great at steel-driving, that when an early steam drill was being tested, he decided to compete against it. So, John Henry hammered his way through the mountain and ended up beating the machine. The story usually goes that he died shortly after out of exhaustion. Most researchers believe that, if there was a real John Henry (which many seem to have found), he likely died of silicosis. That’s when the crystalline silica dust from drilling or grinding gets into the lungs and causes inflammation and scarring. Lung safety is no joke.
