About Brutocao Cellars: “Brutocao Family Vineyards is a tale of two families who combined their passion and expertise to establish one of Mendocino County’s most notable wineries. In 1910, the Brutocao family brought with them a love for wine when they emigrated from Treviso, Italy (a small town near Venice). Len Brutocao met Martha Bliss while attending the University of California, Berkeley. Martha’s father, Irv, had been farming in Mendocino since 1943. After Len and Martha married, the families joined forces and continued to sell their grapes to well-known Sonoma and Napa wineries for many years before starting to make their own wine in 1980.“

Wish sure has built up a reputation over the years. It actually became Wish around 2011, named with the idea that people would make wishlists for products that the application would then find them sellers of said products. Like a search engine for stores. In 2013, it changed to hosting the sales on Wish directly. Wish itself isn’t involved in procuring, storing, handling, or shipping the products directly, so it really is just you buying something from someone who is somewhere and hoping that it arrives as expected. Wish would be the most downloaded e-commerce application in the US for 2017 and then the world in 2018, which is something to commend considering Amazon exists.

Unfortunately, the nature of the platform and their general hands-off involvement with the transactions outside setting them up has led to quite a consistent issue with counterfeit and barely-functioning products being shipped. It got to the point that France removed it from search engines and app stores in 2021. As of 2023, though, it’s back. You also can run the risk of buying something that isn’t actually legal in your country if you aren’t careful. So yeah. That’s how Wish ended up with its reputation.
