In Greek mythos, there were multiple places you could end up in the underworld after you died. First, you’ve got the Asphodel Fields where all the ordinary folk go. Not great, but not bad. Then you’ve got Tartarus where you’d be submerged in blistering hot tartar sauce for being naughty. It was basically Hell. And last but not least, you’ve got Elysium or the Elysian Fields for heroic and righteous individuals.
