About Anne Amie Vineyards
When I awoke, I found myself in a place called Anne Amie Vineyards in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. Had a powerful headache and little understanding of how I got there. I asked about seeing a doctor, and sure enough they had a Dr. Robert Pamplin as the owner. Unfortunately for my head, he was a doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration. Fortunately, the wines of winemaker Thomas Houseman and grower Peter Ebbers provided some relief from the headache. Though their primary varieties are in the Pinot family, there were some interesting others, such as Müller-Thurgau. LIVE certified, whom I hear will confirm the sustainability of Pacific Northwest winegrowers, and Salmon Safe certified, somewhat self-explanatory, Anne Amie crafts high quality wines sustainably.

TASTING NOTES:
Alright, uh, let’s see. The Amrita smells like red raspberry, strawberries and cream, baking spice, blood orange. Tastes like Oregon strawberries, black pepper, and cherry pie. Wait, no pie cherry. Long, dry finish. Acid driven.

The Müller-Thurgau, on the other hand, smells of honeysuckle, key lime pie, white flowers, starfruit, kumquat, and do I detect a hint of crushed gravel? No gravel on the tongue. Instead there’s more key lime, some yellow grapefruit and golden delicious apple, and feijoa. The finish is dry and mineral.

Did you know that the word amnesia comes from the Greek combination of “a-“ (meaning without) and “mnesis” (meaning memory)? I didn’t. What do you mean I couldn’t tell you this fact if I didn’t know it already?

DRINK IT FROM/WITH (conventional option):
Standard white glass. Most wine glasses are white, right? Well, clear. Let’s go with that.

For the Amrita, pair it with grilled shrimp, hard cheeses, salumi, popcorn, bacon wrapped dates, and/or chèvre.

For the Müller-Thurgau, pair it with paella, Pad Thai, tuna poke, moules frites, grilled oysters, and/or ceviche.

OR (really-going-with-the-theme option):
I mean, I guess there could be other colors of wine glasses. Like a blue one. Or peach colored. There’s a whole world out there. Can’t just limit yourself to clear or even opaque.
