“The 2017 Beckon Bien Nacido Pinot Noir opens with captivating aromas of cherry and pomegranate, accented by subtler tones of violets, bergamot and toast. Offering supple texture and an energizing mineral quality, the palate deliveres elegance and finesse alongside nuanced flavors of red and black fruits, earth, herbs and brown spice. A suggestion of cocoa figures on a lingering finish, which concludes with an elegant note of savory pain grillé.” (AbV 14.5%, pH 3.45, TA 0.62 g/100mL, RS 0.7 g/L)

IT’S BECK AND CALL. BECK. AND. CALL. I didn’t realize until I decided to search for theming using the word “beckon” that there are people who actually think it is “beckon call.” I mean, it makes some degree of sense, if redundant? Looks like beck really is just a shortened version of beckon anyway. Actually, wouldn’t that make both takes on the phrase redundant? Well, when I found the dictionary definition for beckon, it specifically refers to a gesture. So it’s gesturing someone over and calling out to them. Huh. Where was I going with this? Oh right, so things like “beckon call” are called “eggcorns” because someone thought that was what “acorn” was. Now you know.
