TASTING NOTES:
Syrah - “Gracefully aged in the winery cellar for 13 years, this single vineyard wine is cool climate Syrah with a zippy acidity that still sings. Light on the oak, flavorful black cherry and a tertiary qualities that invite gulping.” (AbV 12.4%)

Grenache - “This is hillside fruit made with a hands off approach with mostly neutral oak. The resulting wine is blue-purple in color with aromas of cigar tobacco and bay leaf. Clean minerality extends the finish.” (AbV 14.3%)

Unrelated to the Bodega Rancho, Rancho Cucamonga is a town in San Bernardino County. Named after the Kukamongan people who had settled the region by the 1200’s, Kukamonga itself means “sandy place.” The Spanish eventually reached the area in the 1700’s and claimed it as part of the Mission System. By the mid-1800’s, the land, now called Cucamonga, was granted to a Spanish merchant named Tiburcio Tapia. And finally tying this all back to wine, Tapia established one of if not THE first winery of California on that land.
