About Boedecker Cellars
Founded in 2003 by Stewart and Athena Boedecker, Boedecker Cellars is located in Portland, Oregon and sources its wines from the Willamette Valley vineyards. Using minimum intervention techniques and completing every step of the process by hand, every wine is carefully crafted. Dedicated enough to put in up to 14 hour days during harvest periods, Boedecker Cellars is an endeavor Stewart and Athena proudly take on with their friends and family, leading to small lot but world-class wines.

TASTING NOTES:
Blanc: Pale straw color in the glass. On the nose, there’s honeysuckle, elderflower, and jasmine. The palate starts fresh and bright, with notes of nectarines and honey, leading into a center with notes almost like candied lychee. The finish brings back those notes of white flowers and rich stone fruits. (AbV 13.5%)

Gris: Burnished golden hue in the glass, and redolent on the nose of peaches, honeysuckle, and spice. Rich, ripe and polished on the palate with flavors of honey, peaches, & apricots combined with just a hint of citrus. (AbV 13.3%)

BARRELS
The Blanc was given a long cool ferment in neutral oak barrels sur lee, stirred until bottled. The Gris was barrel fermented in neutral oak, lees stirred, and the wine went through partial ML.

TANGENTIALLY RELATED FACT to help you make conversation over this wine:
Having grown up just outside St. Louis, I see a name like Boedecker and the first thing that comes to mind is Goedeker’s, a major appliance retailer based in the region. Think it’s because they had a catchy jingle. Went something like “Goedeker’s Superstore… The highest quality- at the lowest price. Turn it on!” Or something. Anyway, hey look, we’ve got highest quality wine at the lowest prices! There’s a connection! Sort of!

PAIRS WITH (winery recommended):
Crab cakes, grilled veggies, or a cannelloni with the Blanc. Broiled salmon, scallops in tarragon cream, or a spit-roasted pig with the Gris.
