About Casino Mine Ranch
In the Sierra Foothills of Amador County, there stands a century old ranch once used as a gold mine. Today, it is Casino Mine Ranch, an estate vineyard managed by Jim and Rich Merryman. With rare wines in their private cellar and their natural “wine cave,” they invite you to visit their Amador County ranch. Winemaker Andy Erickson claims, “This is Gold Country. So there are all these great mineral deposits: Quartz that sparkles, and volcanic rock, and ash. And the wine caves—these are not Napa Valley caves—are former mine caves, carved out of the hills.”
