About Château Saint Barbe: “Château Saint Barbe is a historical estate that dates to the 14th century. This magical Château, located on the banks of the Garonne, is named a ‘Monument Historique,’ which is a designation given to some national heritage sites in France. The estate comprises over 74 acres of vineyards, where 85% is planted with Merlot, and the rest with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.”

TASTING NOTES:
Bordeaux Supérieur - “A beautiful nose of ripe fruit and spices with a good freshness. A supple attack with firm tannins, amazing quality. Long end.” (AbV 15%, 85% Merlot 5% Petit Verdot 7% Cabernet Franc 3% Cabernet Sauvignon)

Men & Gus Cuvee - “Dark purple color with almost black reflections. Concentrated nose of intense fruits, blackberries, and blackcurrant jam. Delicate aromas of toasted notes, dark chocolate, vanilla, and sweet spices. The mouth is well structured with sweet fruits, ripe tannins, and a beautiful freshness. A very juicy wine with a subtly full-bodied character, and a convincing length.” (AbV 14%, 85% Merlot 6% Cabernet Sauvignon 6% Petit Verdot 3% Cabernet Franc)

Barbie, having existed for over 60 years, has had a fair share of weird developments. She has three family members who have been “retired” at this point. I assume it means they were disowned or quietly killed off. Todd was a twin brother to her younger sister Stacie, but no longer. They made him… disappear. Cousin Francie was around as a character for a decade but has been revived every so often in new forms, presumably through wicked sorcery. They even threw baby Krissy out with the bathwater after three years. Then in 2004 as a publicity stunt they broke up Barbie and Ken, had her show interest in some Aussie bloke named Blaine, and then gave Ken a makeover in an attempt to win her (and consumers) over again. It wasn’t until 2011 that they “officially” got back together. But then! In 2018, they’re just friends! Such compelling drama. Some other little things: there exists an Andy Warhol Barbie; she has owned a zebra; and they made a black Barbie doll in partnership with Oreo in 2001 and somehow did not check for any possible racial connotation from the brand name.
