Self-taught, Charles settled on Walla Walla as his base of operations after meeting a young winemaker in the area. Now he’s a recognized wine superstar, with numerous winery awards since 2008. He was even named Winemaker of the Year by Wine Enthusiast in 2014.

“Lemon thyme scent, fresh bread, ripe stone fruit, and lemon curd. A rich mouthful of flavors. A long and mineral driven wine.”

TANGENTIALLY RELATED FACT to help you make conversation over this wine: The first grapes planted in the Walla Walla Valley were put there by French trappers in a small town, aptly named Frenchtown, outside the Walla Walla city. Unfortunately, a series of natural and infrastructural issues with the area led to a huge decline in production, with Prohibition dealing a final blow. Only in the 1970’s did the Walla Walla wine industry re-emerge.
