About Handal-Denier Vineyards: “For over twenty years we were primarily grape growers selling our premium grapes to some of the best wineries in Sonoma and Napa counties with whom we have long standing relationships. One of our client-wineries was Wellington Vineyards in Glen Ellen owned by the Wellington family of Sonoma. Peter Wellington, owner-winemaker, produced several award-winning, vineyard specific Cabernet Sauvignons, including one from our Dry Creek Vineyard. Peter Wellington helped us develop and make our wines. We grew and produced boutique lots of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Sagrantino, a Red Blend and Cabernet Sauvignon at the Wellington facility in Glen Ellen. We now produce our wines at the Meeker custom crush facility in Healdsburg and continue to receive consulting support from Peter Wellington as well as David Noyes who also worked with Wellington.”

“Zinfandel from Paso Robles is known for its full-bodied flavors, with notes of black cherry, raspberry, dried herbs, and pepper. The wines tend to be high in alcohol and have a sweet, jammy character with a good balance of tannins. The finish is usually long and spicy…” (AbV 14.8%, pH 3.78, RS < 0.1%)

TANGENTIALLY RELATED FACT to help you make conversation over this wine:
Internet handles. Have nothing to do with holding anything or hands at all! Weirdly, handle was mostly used pre-internet by truckers and people using CB radio. You probably already know it, but CB, or Citizens Band radio, is a collection of short-distance frequencies that anyone with a CB radio can hop on to talk to someone nearby. When people would get on these radios, they tended to use a short, snappy moniker instead of their regular name, partially for the safety of anonymity and partially because it was fun.

So in the 90’s, the practice of using a handle migrated onto the internet. You might think that a handle is the same thing as a username, but while some people might use their handle as their username, it isn’t always the case. The username is your display name, but the handle is what you go by. Take Twitter, for example. You have a handle, which is your @ name. You also have a username, which displays in front of your handle and is easily edited. While the username might change, the handle stays the same. Often there are sites that require a username, but you don’t put in your handle. Think professional sites, or stuff like your doctor and insurance providers.
