About Fossil Point Wines
Located within the Central Coast AVA, Fossil Point Wines is named after the scenic Fossil Point of Avila Beach. Similarly, their vineyard sources all share a particular closeness to the Pacific Ocean, their soil composed of once ancient seafloors’ coarse sand and shale weathered over time. Respectful of the coastal landscape, they pride sustainability in hopes of preserving the high quality of their land. Melding the hospitable coastal lifestyle and ease of the Central California landscape, Fossil Point’s wines reflect both these qualities in their approachability and quality.

TASTING NOTES:
“Pale pink in color. Expressive aromas of passionfruit and citrus leap from the glass. Classic Provençal flavor profile of strawberry and melon, with a balance of acidity and fruit on the palate.” (AbV 13.6%, pH 3.24, TA 6.1 g/L, RS 1.6 g/L)

The oscillating cylinder steam engine, also known as the “wobbler” in the US, is an engine design by William Murdoch from the late 1700’s.

Steam enters and exits a piston cylinder that rocks back and forth on a fulcrum. As the steam pushes the piston out, it moves a crank on a wheel (or other device), causing it to turn. Steam exits the cylinder as the piston is pushed back in, facilitated by the wobble-ability of the cylinder, and the wheel completes a full rotation.
