TASTING NOTES:
Sauvage - “With zero dosage, Sauvage Rosé’s vibrant fruit flavors of wild strawberry and a hint of cherry really shine on the nose and palate and are complemented by bright acidity.” (AbV 12.5%, pH 3.20, TA 7.2 g/L, RS 3.2 g/L)

Brut - “This Brut Rosé has a melon-mango color and tropical fruit, pineapple, orange, and pink grapefruit on the nose. Additional hints of spices like cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, and clove. The cornucopia continues on the palate with custard, a real delicacy. The finish is long and round, a sweet kiss.” (AbV 12%, pH 3.20, TA 6.8g/L, RS 8 g/L)

VARIETALS: Sauvage is 100% Pinot Noir. Brut is 79% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay, 1% Merlot.

THAT REMINDS ME OF: DIY.

Do it yourself. Pretty self-explanatory. But it’s interesting, as there’s this whole sort of culture that’s sprung up around it in the past century. People certainly made things for themselves before, so why has it become somewhat of an identity? Personally, I think part of it is a reaction to industrialization and consumerism. When everything you have has been made for you, from furniture to food to clothing to electronics, a lot of people probably have this urge to do something for themselves, craving the sense of accomplishment or self-sufficiency it gives.

Pair this with increasing home ownership during the mid-century, labor regulations providing more free-time around the same time, and the progression and proliferation of media from magazines to TV to videotapes to the internet. You’ve got yourself a DIY revolution.
