About Gruet Winery
Founded 1984, Gruet’s specialty is sparkling wines of the Methode Champenoise variety. What is Methode Champenoise? It is the traditional method of fermentation used in the production of sparkling wines and Champagne. The wine ferments once in a barrel, and then undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle (en tirage). Operating out of New Mexico, the winery’s roots trace back to Gilbert Gruet’s Champagne House in Bethon, France. Family-owned, they’ve reached a place of respect and acclaim among the nation’s top sommeliers.

TASTING NOTES:
Brut - “Wonderful aromas of green apple and citrus with mineral notes make for a delightful start to this traditional sparkler. The Brut NV offers bright, crisp acidity complimented by a touch of yeast on the delightfully long finish.” (AbV 12%, pH 3.07, 76 PPM)
Blanc - “Pale Salmon in color, the Blanc de Noirs has aromas of berry and pear, complimented by a rich, round mouth feel on the palate. It finishes with a layer of cream and pleasant, warm toastiness.” (AbV 12%, pH 3.12, 70 PPM)
Rosé - “With zero dosage, Sauvage Rosé’s vibrant fruit flavors of wild strawberry and hint of cherry really shine on the nose and palate and are complemented by bright acidity.” (AbV 12.5%, pH 3.02)

You likely know How the Grinch Stole Christmas, but did you know about Halloween is Grinch Night? In 1977, as a prequel to the more well known film, Halloween is Grinch Night shows how The Grinch is like a mythical evil being that comes down to Whoville whenever the Sour-Sweet Wind rises. What is the Sour-Sweet Wind? Well, it seems like a metaphor for Fall, and The Grinch is kinda like the harbinger of the season. A young Who named Euchariah decides rather than to hide indoors when The Grinch is coming to town to go out to the “euphemism.” What is the “euphemism?” I still have no idea, to be honest. But he runs into The Grinch, who’s bringing a wagon full of spooky stuff, and valiantly stands in his way. Rather than subject the town to The Grinch’s torments, Euchariah decides to take the full brunt of the scares while waiting until the Sour-Sweet Wind has died down. Euchariah triumphantly declares that now that the wind has died down, The Grinch will leave, and The Grinch does relent. But, not before promising he’ll come again.
