“It has a classic Anderson Valley profile of foresty red fruits, balsa wood and stony earthiness. The stems bring a dried herb and floral complexity without any greenness. Bottled unfined, unfiltered.” (AbV 12.8%)

In Greek mythology, the couple of Alcyone and Ceyx peeved the gods, primarily Zeus, leading to Ceyx being struck by lightning at sea and Alcyone dying in grief. After witnessing this, however, the gods decided to take pity and transformed their bodies into kingfishers, also known as halcyon birds. The phrase “halcyon days,” prior to entering common vernacular, referred to a period in winter when storms would not occur and the halcyon (the kingfisher) could lay its eggs on the beach.
