“This wine is deep garnet in color while emanating aromas of black fruits, bacon fat, liquorice, and barbecued meats. The palate confirms a big meaty character, concentrated with a rustic, well-balanced acidity, tannin, and minerally finish.” (AbV 15.8%)

The namesake for this wine is Darwin, Australia, the capital city of Australia’s Northern Territory. Originally inhabited by the Larrakia people, the HMS Beagle sailed into the natural harbor in 1839. At this point, they named it Port Darwin, after Charles Darwin, who’d sailed with them previously. While the settlement ended up called Palmerston in 1869, the city was renamed Darwin in 1911.
