TANGENTIALLY RELATED FACT to help you make conversation over this wine:
All that and a bag of chips. One of those phrases from the 90’s that just sort of entered the popular lexicon without a clearly discernible source. The likely thing is it was AAVE first, as most phrases that get big “out of nowhere.” So why a bag of chips then? Some people think it has some association with Fritos and Frito Pie, but it seems to be rooted in sandwich shops. Because you literally get all of that, presumably what’s on the sandwich, and a bag of chips. They included the chips with your order. It’s a bargain. Some people think it was specifically a Subway thing, but it’s not clear. Now, if the phrase “all that” or “all that and a bag of chips” came first, that’s a whole other discussion.
