TASTING NOTES: “Does not lack power, yet it is supple and soft, there’s no grippy tannin to interfere with what is an undeniably pleasurable Cab experience. It’s a wine that tastes like a bridge between old world but leaning more towards new. Classic Cali flavors, all complimented by balance above all. Delicious drinking, really.” (AbV 14%)

THAT REMINDS ME OF: Alan Wake. An author named, drumroll please, Alan Wake travels to the small town of Bright Falls, Washington on vacation with his wife Alice. An old woman shows them a cabin on an island in the middle of a volcanic crater lake, different from what was expected. Alice later surprises Alan with the truth, that they are actually there so Alan can see a famous psychiatrist for help with his writer’s block, which upsets Alan. Some force then drags Alice into the lake, and Alan is unable to retrieve her.

After attempting to get help, Alan learns that: there is no cabin or island on the lake anymore, he wrote the manuscript for a novel he can’t remember, there are shadowy figures trying to kill him, and everybody else thinks he’s going crazy. Alan must figure out what the heck is going on while trying not to get institutionalized at the same time and hopefully find his wife.
