Père the Platypus

TASTING NOTES: “An exceptional example of smooth silky tannins and bright rich red fruit flavours. Our 100% Cabernet offers classic cassis on the nose complemented by hints of spice on the rich palate. Very well balanced and shows depth on the finish.” (AbV 14.0%, pH 3.61, TA 3.3 g/L, RS 2.10 g/L)

THAT REMINDS ME OF: A platypus. Perry, the platypus.

Running from 2007 to 2015, Phineas and Ferb was an animated show by Disney primarily about two young stepbrothers, the titular Phineas and Ferb Fletcher, who were precocious inventors. Every day of the Summer they come up with some over-the-top, larger-than-life scheme, like creating an entire beachfront in their backyard or a rollercoaster that spans the city. Meanwhile, their parents are oblivious to their often reckless escapades, and their older sister Candace is hellbent on exposing their actions.

Between the A-plot with those characters, we get a B-plot involving the Fletcher family’s pet platypus, Perry. In truth, Perry is part of a secret organization of house pets and other animals tasked with protecting the world from various evil scientists. Perry is stuck dealing with one particular scientist, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, who makes elaborate attempts to conquer the tri-state area inspired by petty grievances. They maintain a simultaneously adversarial and professional relationship.
