About Leoni Farms Winery
Over six generations, the Leonis have done everything from dairy farming, to mining, to cattle ranching, to logging, to even construction in the mountains of Amador county. It was only a matter of time before they got to winemaking, right? In 2014, Leoni Farms Winery was founded by Jon and Meredith Campbell. Christened using Meredith’s family name, they’ve been putting Amador County’s unique mountainy terroir to good use ever since.

TASTING NOTES:
Barbera - “…crisp acidity…complmented by a fruit-forward bubble gum character in the middle of your palate.“

Zinfandel - “Heavy on the palate with all the boldness and fruit forward plum-iness that make Amador County Zinfandels great…”

TANGENTIALLY RELATED FACT to help make conversation over this wine:
Despite debuting as an 8-bit personal computer in the early 80’s, the Commodore 64 hit rough times by the 90’s. It was repackaged as a game console in 1990 to compete with the NES and Sega consoles, and while it had its fair share of games, it was still regarded as a failure compared to its competitors.

DRINK IT FROM/WITH (conventional option):
Both reds, both standard red glasses. Winery says the Barbera pairs well with almost any food (and ages well).

OR (really-going-with-the-theme option):
Pour one out for the Commodore 64. As in pour it into the cartridge slot of the gaming system and then drink out of there. Be sure to blow out any dust first.
