About Materra | Cunat Family Vineyards
Roughly translating to “Mother Earth,” Materra wines are grown by the Cunat Family in the Oak Knoll district of Napa Valley. Combining the excellent terroir, hand-selected vines, and talented team at Cunat Family Vineyards, Materra is the culmination of their efforts. The soil of the Oak Knoll district is known for the high quality Chardonnay and Merlot grown there, and Materra is no exception.

TASTING NOTES:
2010 - “…expresses ripe plum, cocoa-dusted raspberries and sage. Additional aromas include pie cherries, tobacco and Darjeeling tea. An abundance of soft grain tannins provide a well-structured youthful wine with bright acidity.”

2011 - “…estate grown Merlot acts as the backbone of this smooth fruit-forward wine with expressive notes of dark cherry, black licorice, cinnamon and chocolate. This vintage commences the official proprietary name for our flagship Merlot. Flavors and complexity will continue to develop for up to 10 years in the cellar.”
