While most are familiar with the second Star Trek film, The Wrath of Khan, those who aren’t familiar with the original series may not be aware that the movie is essentially a sequel to an episode from season one of the series. Episode 22, titled “Space Seed,” has the Enterprise come across a ship carrying Khan and his people in a state of suspended animation. After revivifying Khan, a member of the Enterprise’s crew is convinced to go with him and awaken the rest of his people. When their takeover of the Enterprise fails, Kirk holds a hearing that decides to exile Khan and his people to a harsh planet known as Ceti Alpha V, wondering what he may make of it in 100 years.
