TASTING NOTES:
Ginger Loves Company - “Yes, she does. Beautiful, textured Napa Valley and Clarksburg Chardonnay with hints of ripe melon and stone fruit flavors aged with peach and ground dried ginger root. There is a hint of sweetness, balanced beautifully by the natural freshness of the wine and a touch of spice from the ginger.” (AbV 14.1%)

Hath No Fury - “This style-defying wine starts with grapes from one of our favorite vineyards in Lake County. After creating a brilliant Sauvignon Blanc, we add hand-cut jalapeños and habaneros, bringing it to life with ripe, palate-perking heat. The resulting wine is complex, tropical, loaded with citrus fruit flavor and balanced with a touch of south-of-the-border spice. If you crave something beyond the ordinary, step up and pour yourself a glass…” (AbV 13.5%)

THAT REMINDS ME OF: The Allstate character Mayhem. Yeah, you know the guy. Black suit, usually slightly maimed. Mayhem first showed up in 2010, a way for Allstate to try, as one advertising executive put it, to “kick Flo’s ass.”

Mayhem, played by Dean Winters, shows up in some everyday situation, talking about something bad that’s about to happen, usually because of him. He’ll look just like himself, but he’ll represent another person, an inanimate object, or some force of nature. Everyone treats him like whatever he’s posing as, but he talks to the audience directly. When he inevitably causes a problem, he mentions that some policies wouldn’t cover what he did, so you should try Allstate. He ends the commercial by saying with Allstate you’ll be “better protected from mayhem, like me.” Pretty effective.
