TASTING NOTES: “Ruby red with garnet tinges. Rich and powerful aroma that harmoniously combines typical herbaceous scents with intense red berries and delicate spicy notes. Full-bodied, mineral, pleasantly tannic, and elegantly velvety. A flavorful and very long-lasting red wine.” (AbV 13.5%)

THAT REMINDS ME OF: Amaterasu, or Amaterasu Ōmikami, the mythological Japanese goddess of the sun. Considered to be the Shinto chief deity, she was the favorite of her parents Izanagi and Izanami. She had at least two siblings, given how much these things vary, named Tsukuyomi (god of the moon) and Susanoo (god of storms, seas, and etc). Her brothers were kind of a pain in the ass. Particularly Susanoo.

Susanoo, as he was being kicked out of Heaven for being a pain, wanted to say goodbye to his sister at her place. He challenged her to a friendly game there, and when he won, became the world’s biggest sore winner. He ran around her house breaking things, taking dumps in random places, and eventually threw her horse into her loom while she was weaving, causing her to injure herself. Fed up, she locked herself in a cave, depriving the world of sunlight until the other gods coax her out. Relatable.
