Vocal range is an interesting thing. Classically, singers are put into one of six categories, highest to lowest: Soprano, Mezzo-soprano, Contralto, Tenor, Baritone, and Bass. Usually the highest note you expect to be sung from a Soprano is a C6. However, Brazilian singer Georgia Brown has achieved something as high as G10. For reference, the highest note on a piano is typically C8.

For those not musically-inclined, the letters refer to pitches, which go from A to G (8 notes total). After G the cycle begins again. A gap of 8 pitches is called an octave, denoted by the number next to the pitch.

So a G10 is over two octaves higher than C8, and four octaves higher than a C6.
