TASTING NOTES:
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano - “This wine enchants with an intense, floral, and fruity-spicy aroma with hints of black cherries, tobacco, and oak spice. With complex and elegant flavors, this exquisite Vino Nobile shows firm tannins on the palate, a balanced structure, and a well-integrated acidity. The finish is long, soft, delicate, and harmonious. An eclectic wine, suitable for any occasion.” (AbV 14.5%)

Rosso - “This juicy medium-bodied Rosso shows intriguing aromas of blueberries and strawberries. The palate has a perfect balance. Elegant tannins with a supple fruity finish. This wine is fresh, fun, and a pleasure to drink and share.” (AbV 14%)

VARIETALS: The Vino Nobile is 100% Sangiovese, Rosso is 85% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot & Canaiolo combined.

BARRELS: The Vino Nobile spent 2 years in oak tonneaux, Rosso spent 8 months in a mix of stainless steel and oak.

THAT REMINDS ME OF: The good ol’ bookmobile. A way to get books to the people, even if they don’t have the time or means to get to a library.

These things have existed since the 19th century, although back then they were apparently called perambulating libraries? Perambulating basically means walking, so I don’t know why they didn’t just call them walking libraries or wandering libraries or something like that. Book wagons. Anyway, these were horse drawn carriages that made circles through villages or rural regions of England and the United States. The very first one that could be considered a “mobile” would be Sarah Byrd Askew’s customized Model T in 1920. The first truck version came from a Works Progress Administration project in 1940. What didn’t those folks do?

Of course, there are some interesting variations. Some places have library boats. Colombia has a “Biblioburro” book donkey traveling around. The US once had the Pack Horse Library Project, another WPA thing, where you had people riding around on horses saddled with books. Anything to get books to the masses.
