TASTING NOTES: “2018 marks the 2nd year for our family’s first ever Rosé wine, Rothchild Rosé. The 2018 literally shimmers in its barely-there hue with irrepressible perfume of flower petals and lemons. Intense acidity, bright citrus, and white peaches are anchored on the palate by prominent minerality and a crisp, mouthwatering finish.” (AbV 11.4%)

THAT REMINDS ME OF: Snowpiercer, or as the original graphic novel was titled, Le Transperceneige.

The world has frozen over completely, due to some catastrophe. To preserve humanity, a giant thousand-car train is built that circles the snowballed planet on tracks. The further back on the train you are, the worse the conditions are. A sick man named Proloff gets quarantined to the back and meets up with revolutionary Adeline Belleau. When military leader Colonel Krimson says the train is slowing down and they’ll need to lose the rearmost cars, Belleau and Proloff attempt to move people further up the train. Of course, Krimson never intended on letting the people at the back live.

The movie and the TV series maintain some of the bigger themes and setting but are very much their own thing. All of it is pretty wild.
