About Some of the Wineries…
Canoe Ridge Vineyard, founded in 1989 in the Horse Heaven Hills, has focused on Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay for the majority of their existence. Named after a ridge by the vineyard along the Columbia River, apparently Lewis and Clark named the region when they journeyed there in 1805.

The Huntsman. Pursuing the top vineyards of Columbia Valley like their prey, they’ve got their eyes on the prize, and that prize is their Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Guide Wine Company is private label produced by Precept Wines and is sourced from Wallula Vineyards, Goose Ridge Vineyards, and Alder Ridge.

TASTING NOTES:
The Guide - “Inviting Cherry, Cocoa and Leather Aromas. Silky Palate is Layered with Vanilla Clove. This Well-Structured Wine Leaves Developed Cedar and Lingering Fruit on the Finish.” (95% Cabernet, 5% Syrah)

Huntsman - “Dried blueberry, strawberry jam and a touch of cocoa on the nose lead to concentrated dark red fruit flavors of freeze dried raspberry, black plum, and strawberry lozenge on the palate. The finish is long and round with lingering notes of black licorice, clove and cocoa.” (98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot)

Canoe Ridge - “Deep and voluptuous with rich currants, raspberry, anise and cedar, full bodied flavor finishes with well balanced tannins.” (100% Cabernet)

You thought I’d talk about those live action Snow White movies now, didn’t you? Fools! I’m going to talk about the Huntsman, the bow and arrow that can be used by the Sniper class in Team Fortress 2!

Released in May 2009 with an update to the game, the Huntsman replaces the Sniper’s typical sniper rifle with a bow and arrow. You’d think this would be a downgrade, going from a gun to a bow, but it’s surprisingly effective. The arrows have an arc and increase in speed the longer you draw the bowstring back. Good for leading enemies around and jumping into the frontline.

DRINK IT FROM (conventional option):
Standard red glasses, paired with standard red fare. Compare them against each other with a similar dish perhaps.

OR (really-going-with-the-theme option):
Pour each wine into one of the other bottles. It’s like a Cabernet roulette.
